Our Leadership

The Leadership at Watertown Community Church

We are an elder lead, congregational church. We believe the biblical terms for elder, pastor and bishop are synonmous with each other in the New Testament. Our pastor is simply the paid leader of our church and he is one of the many leaders we have, called elders. Our church raises its own men to the office of elder. The elders are accountable to the whole congregation for their leadership and teaching, while the congregation is called to follow the elders because the elders are accountable to God for the congregation.
